A Welcome Letter to all Families

Dear Parents / Guardians,

Thank you for your interest in our Religious Education Program. We look forward to growing in Christ with you, the catechists, and your family.

All of the catechetical documents of the Church remind us that families are the first educators of their children in the faith.  Our mission in religious education is to collaborate with parents to form a new generation of Catholics who know and love Jesus Christ and live as his disciples in the community of faith.  Toward that end, we strive to offer a unified, solid, and engaging religious education program.

Every student is given a Finding God – Loyola Press, textbook on the first day of class.  Finding God: Our Response to God’s Gifts is based on a spiral curriculum that integrates the fundamental themes of the Catechism of the Catholic Church as well as Scripture and Catholic Social Teachings. As children are introduced to and revisit concepts and vocabulary from one year to the next, their knowledge and experience both broaden and deepen.

All the staff of St. Paul’s Religious Education programs for children welcomes you to embark on an exciting experience this school year. Our teachers will together explore with your children the Catholic faith, learn about the life and teachings of Jesus, and celebrate the liturgical year.

Our classes will be held at Fordham University classrooms- except Good Shepherd (Level 1) which will be held in the Parish Center room 201.  Location for each class will be received at the orientation meeting on our first day of School.

Again, welcome!  Please feel free to contact us about any questions or concerns you may have.  We look forward to seeing you at the 10:00 AM mass.
