THIS FRIDAY: The Met Opera Comes to St. Paul’s

St Paul’s partners with Fordham University’s Center on Religion and Culture and the Metropolitan Opera to bring you an evening of conversation on art, faith, and justice in El Niño, which premieres at the Met Opera later this month. The opera-ontario incorporates secular and secular texts in multiple languages throughout time in a creative retelling of the Nativity that touches on the migrant and refugee experience.
David Gibson, director of the CRC, will moderate a panel discussion between El Niño director Lileana Blain-Cruz, Fadi Skeiker of Fordham’s theater department, and Fordham theology professor Leo Guardado. Additionally, Daniela Mack, mezzo-soprano, will perform a short selection from the opera. BONUS: Five pairs of tickets for a performance of the opera will be drawn at random to attendees who sign up at the door.
Join us for this talk at our church on Friday, April 19th at 6PM. Admission is free and open to all; please RSVP by filling out this form on Fordham’s website.
