Laudato Si'
A New York Landmark
Pope Francis’ new encyclical letter released on June 18, 2015 takes its title from a hymn by Saint Francis of Assisi, Laudato Si’ or “Praised be you, my Lord” – On Care for Our Common Home.

Laudato Si’ is the Pope’s second encyclical letter and is 184 pages in length and written in an informal, accessible style.  The pope issues an urgent call to care for creation citing specific environmental issues including global climate change, access to clean water, and the use of carbon credits.  But, Laudato si' is not only about the environment, but on the spirit of human relationships — human beings among themselves, with other creatures and with all of creation and how we use technological power in all these relationships.
